Field trip day! Today was a
swimming field trip, so it was pretty boring for me (because even though I am lifeguard
certified, my contract only allows me to be in or near the water on on-base
pools and we were off base). My job was to guard the lunches and sit in the
cafeteria all day as well as take kids to the bathroom. I was still able to see
the pool area and it was pretty cool. They had a water slide that was like a
race. If you beat the current fastest time down the slide you would get a
prize. This place also had the spas and sauna like the spa I went to. But my
day went by pretty fast and I wasn’t too bored because the kids had to come
into lunch in rotations. By the time the last group left from lunch, the first
group was coming back for snack 45 minutes later. I also made 80 cents off kids
dropping it on the floor and me not knowing whose money to was. What was nice
about today was I got more of a chance to talk to the staff members about life
outside of camp and get to know them more. I also was able to hang out with the
kids and joke around with them.
Tonight we have a midsummer
meeting with Erik our PC. I can’t believe we are already half way done (I’m
pretty excited). We are probably going to dinner somewhere but I ate beforehand
because I am just so tired of spending money on food. I only got a scoop of
nutella ice cream with the 80 cents I found today and it was really satisfying.
