oh what's up bike... did you forget i am the master??? yeeeaahhhh

Today my ankle was feeling a little bit better. It mostly just feels stiff and I think the nerves and muscles around my ankle are just very tender, so I should be fine by hopefully tomorrow. Today was just a typical day of work for me. But today during my break, I showed my bike who’s boss. I was daring enough to go down to the store and get WAY too much unneeded food (like cookies… oops) and I had to fill my back pack, a plastic bag, and have a bag of toilet paper. So both handle bars had something hanging off it and my bag was heavy… and there were no problems! I rode that bike like a champ! Didn’t wobble or struggle at all! Ha! It thought it beat me with that fall! Also I came home and once again rested instead of worked out (it killed me to make that decision!) and it honestly made such a world of difference. I am walking almost normally again and the pain is pretty minor. I still sat all day at the center so that hopefully tomorrow I will be full on up and running.
Today I was in charge of wheels on Wednesdays where the kids can bring the bikes, scooters, or roller blades and ride around the elementary school black top next to the center. We set up coned lanes, stop signs, yield signs, and pedestrian crossing areas and the kids all have to follow the traffic laws. I had to evaluate them today so that next week we can hopefully take the ones that passed evaluation around Askren (the installation where the center is) instead of just biking around the black top. I also was getting a lot of guff about not playing TNT again yet or singing the pizza song. I normally make them sing the pizza song in order to go to snack but the last two days I have had to leave large group activity before they are ready for the song. It makes me feel really good that they get pumped about those things! Also this one kid who looked me straight in the eye and told me he wasn’t going to listen to me or ever like me has been so amazing this week. He has wanted to help me out, he was constantly asking about my ankle today, he was asking for me to teach new songs, and he has had such a positive attitude around me.
Over all it was a good day. Tonight I still don’t plan on doing much because I want to rest up my foot for the weekend. I am actually getting really close to being done with a lot of the parts of my homework (that I can get done now) so that I can stop worrying about it in the future.
