It's July???!!!

July 1, 2012
So this morning we woke up to go to Neu Swanstein (I have no idea how to actually spell it) where there are two Castles, one of which inspired the Disney’s Sleeping beauty castle. I haven’t done much research on my own so I can’t tell you what is really there but it sounded cool and Anneke had done a lot of research on it. The problem was that two girls weren’t ready in time so we missed the first train and when we finally got to the train station we found out it’d take almost 7 hours to get there (and we have to be back at 10:30 pm so by 8 am when we got there it wasn’t even worth it anymore). Also on Sundays nothing is open (McDonald’s across the street isn’t even open until 9 am and only open until 1 pm… ps. It’s a two story McDonalds!) anywhere in Germany and the trains are limited as well. So we are not sure what we are going to do today. We might check out Wurzberg which is only twenty minutes away by train. The guard at the barracks is from there and we was telling us all the cool things to see there (like areas that they used for the 3 Musketeers movie). But we will see what happens.
Well… what happened was we came back and we all instantly fell back asleep (since the sun isn’t out.. it’s been overcast and raining) and didn’t do much today. I woke up at noon and that’s when I was able to write my post about Munich and put up all my pictures (I had no idea I took so many!) and just hang out. A lot of the other girls slept until about 1 pm. Then two girls and I hit the gym (yay!!! Finally!) and got a good workout. We went to the smaller one here on base since it was closer and I was able to really get an amazing workout in. the workout really helped the stress and everything and definitely made me feel less guilty about all the bad food I have been eating =) for the rest of the day we are all just hanging out and resting in our rooms because we know that this is our last lazy day for the rest of the summer (since we will be traveling and busy every weekend from now on). Tonight we are going out to dinner somewhere downtown (we will have to see what’s even open since NOTHING is open on Sundays in Germany… they dig the day of rest deal). Then hopefully I will get some rest since I will now be starting my spilt shift where I work 7-10 am and then 1-6 pm.
Things are still pretty rough and I still have a lot of adjusting to do, but it is good to know that I am not the only one feeling this way. Someone from work is going to take Anneke and I to the PX early in the week to get some supplies and then hopefully I will get a chance to either go to the commissary or to the grocery store across the street (since I am running out of food) and then hopefully everything will get a lot easier. All of us have had a rough week and weekend and by last night we were all talking about how we wanted to go home. But now that we have talked about it together and don’t feel alone, hopefully it will get easier.
