Movie day!

So last night’s base celebration was pretty good. There was a lot of people there, lots of food, and many different things going on. There was a stage for a band, face painting, bounce houses, a huge arena for paintball, and a sling shot ride thing. There was also a ton of different food vendors from pizza to hamburgers and from empanadas to chicken kababs. I went on the sling shot ride and it was really fun. It was the kind where you sit in the seat and it’s like a bungee that shoots you up and stuff. I have pictures on my Facebook that you should check out. Then at 10:30 the fireworks started. They were set up super close so all the fireworks would light up the sky and would rattle the ground. It was cool to see but I also definitely wish I could have been home for Fourth of July.
Today was field trip day so thankfully I got to sleep in. Thursdays are going to be so nice because I work 9-5:30 because of the field trips. Today we went and saw Ice Age 4 in 3D. We were super lucky and on top of the lunch and snack provided by the center, the movie theater gave each person a bag of popcorn and a drink for free. At this movie theater you can get sweet or salty popcorn. Sweet is more like kettle corn and was pretty interesting. The theater also has love seat chairs in the theater and the chairs don’t have the bottom seat part that folds up. There’s tons of leg room and you don’t feel super squished to the people next to you. They only had one preview, a Simpson short, and then the movie started. It was really cool and the movie was pretty funny. The 3D glasses were even made to look like Sid’s head. I was with the second graders today and there were only 6 of them to 2 staff so it was really easy to deal with today. We came back we just had some free play and eventually Anneke and I could go home early because all the kids got picked up early. Our boss is looking in to getting us bikes so that we don’t spend 80 minutes walking to and from work every day so that will be nice.
We also stopped by the German grocery store on the way home and I was able to pick up some fruit, juice, and some frozen items for the next couple weeks which was quite the relief… I was starting to run out of food. Tonight I just plan on relaxing and starting on my camp homework. I haven’t gone to the gym in a few days again but I think I will be ok since I have been walking 80 minutes to work every day. Overall it was a pretty easy day. Now to just finalize traveling plans for this weekend so that I can stop worrying about that.
